wow, fantastic lamp! You know, I often wonder why us haunters dont give the white foam much of a chance, but I think I may have to buy a few chunks now that I have my hot foam cutter. As long as the heat cauterizes the beads, I have no excuse not to try my luck with the white stuff (especially after such a great example projet) Thank you for helping to convince me, and once again great sculpting skills
!
Lets see....Magic, miniature horses, penguins, lacrosse, volleyball, and Halloween

The white stuff takes a little more finess to work with , and if your using a hot foam cutter , get a good face mask to block the fumes they are absolutly deadly, no kidding when styrofaom is burned it realesed a carsonogenic thats poison , the dust also is bad , I use just an sharp utility knife, saws, finer grit sandpaper and a hand sander and sometimes a heat gun, when i use the heat gun is always in a open door garage to vent any fumes, the foam cutters are great and can do wonder full things especially with large foam but for finer details not so great and again leathal , Absolutly you must work in a vented area or die trying ..literally

Wow, that lamp is awesome. Very gothic and imposing.
Eventhough I am Dead it is always warm inside my bed.

Glad your using Solar. I could see any other light source melting the Styrofoam. Did you reinforce the toes and horn? They seem to stick out and would hate to see them broken off! Oh please tell me you are going to put red LED lights in the eyes!!!!
I love the screaming!

Scott N.:
Ihauntu did title the post 'dragon Lamp sculpt complete', but added "...now will have to wait till spring when i can do the monster mud and the painting and Airbrushing about 30 or so hours invested so far , its going to be lit by a solar light ..." Now I don't know, but I reckon that qualifies as progress toward a finished product, don't it? Maybe a body needs to read the entire post before getting snippy.
