Has anyone used the Dayton motor 3M096 that replaced the discontinued 2Z806 for their FCG? The rpm is higher on the new motor (6.9 vs. 6). Monster guts does have a replacement with an rpm of 5 but it is $60 with the shipping. The Dayton motor can be had for $48 with free shipping.
Worth the extra cost for the slower rpm?

Save yourself even more money and go to zacharybinx's site, the Burden Sales Surplus Center, but look for motor item number 5-1587. Its about 3 bucks and I run two different FCGs with them. They work great. Perfect speed and everything.

I use that motor for my fcg and two tombstone peppers. You can just connect them to a wall wart I get mine from goodwill for about $1. This motor has a pretty good amount of power for the size/cost but I still had to counter weight my FCG to get him to work properly. I would actually like to try that other 6 rpm motor eventually too.
here is the one I used to build my fcg

I have Burdens 6RPM 120VAC (5-1702)installed in a Dangling Crank Spider. 6RPM is good for an FCG, but a little slow for the DCS. I just ordered one each of the 10, 16, 20, and 30RPM. The price is fair, and we all know they'll get used somewhere. I am please with the motor, the price, and they ship fast.
