I live in Texas and it gets as high as 106 at times. I have gravely the butler and Count Dracula. Can I store these in the attic without them melting or messing up? Has anyone done this before? I have been keeping them in the closet and I could really use the space but don't want them to get messed up because of the cost.
Thanks for your help.

If these have any latex components, I would not store them in the attic.

I'm in Houston, so I can identify with your storage problems.

I have several latex props that are stored in our garage. I don't think I'd put them in the attic at all. Even being in the (slightly more) protected garage area, I'm getting cracking and aging to the point where I'm going to have to either retire or try to resurface them (or just live with the cracking). I used to store my mummy and Donna of the Dead (plastic/electronic figures) in the attic, but it was so like an oven, I decided it wasn't worth the risk. They stay in the garage storage area now. (not much better, but at least it's not getting direct heat ever summer). They have held up just fine for several years now.
If at all possible, try to put them in a closet or other inside storage area. The Texas heat/humidity is just brutal on props.

The heat can damage latex. For non latex items go for the attic.
Eventhough I am Dead it is always warm inside my bed.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I don't think they have latex on them but am not for sure. I guess I will not take the chance and keep the guys in the closet. lol I want Sadie the maid but may think twice now.

I must agree with not putting the softer or latex items in the attic. We're up here in the North, and the summer gets hot. I removed our masks before it got really hot, and the latex was starting to stick together. Now, the softer items are wrapped in paper, so they don't stick to each other, and most of them are stored low out of the heat.
The cold really stiffens them up, so I don't mess with them until they have been warmed up and softened.
