Just got this tonight at Garden Ridge - a "Day after Christmas" gift from MysterE ! We were out looking for animated reindeer/wolf at Garden Ridge and then saw this! Pricey ($99.) but sooo cool - we couldn't resist! He is hollow and the face armor moves on side rivets. It is made of metal and everything else is welded into place.
Now I need ideas! We can sure use Forum suggestions for great ways to creep him up! I am starting to plan our 2010 haunted castle/dungeon theme to greet guests as they come through the front door. I looks like I might be able to put a skull inside the hollow head piece - but how can I get the visor pieces to go up and down? HELP!

I say put a mini fogger in the bottom, and a red light in the head to shine out. You could even use a light fx box and make him talk kinda like singing JoL's do. When he talks the light turns on, could be saying the rules of your haunted castle.
We stopped checking for monsters under our beds when we realized they were inside of us

$99 is cheap!...I would've snagged it in a heartbeat...Concgrats on your score!....I like the suggestion of making it light up from inside when it talks...Adds to the mystery versus putting a skull in it....Something else that would be cool is build a wooden box base and attach the armour to the top lid and have it sway back and forth or side to side....You could put a motor inside the box that lifts the one side up and down, kind of like the fcg ghosts....ZR

Hallow and thanks for all the FANTASTIC ideas!!
Meeps - I will love any ideas you and Pieter can offer to make the visor open... and Biggie - the red light and fog is a superb suggestion.
ZR -- I like the notion to refrain from putting a skull under the visor so it is more mysterious.
Bozz and halloween71 - Yep -- $99. wasn't too bad - they just came in at Garden Ridge, and had a few different sizes too! The medium and small versions were just as nice and less expensive. But I just couldn't resist the big guy. Size matters, right!?
:
(As for the boots - well... at my age, after all the nog and punch I have consumed over the past weeks, I am lucky to be standing at all - let alone balancing in heels. What waz I thinkin'?)! LOL
) BOO!
PS - Happy New year too!! BOZZ!! HOWZIT GOIN?" TO SERVE MAN " ... IT'S A COOKBOOK!"

That is so cool! I like the lighs and fog idea. Of course I say add a Boa around him. You can never have too many Boa's maybe fuscia would be nice
Oh and
LOVE THE BOOTS GIRLFRIEND!Linus: You've heard about fury and a woman scorned?
Charlie Brown: Yes, I guess I have.
Linus: Well that is nothing compared to the fury of a woman who has been cheated out of tricks or treats!

Hey Susie...spoke with Pieter about it but he needs more details and a close up of the hinge that opens and closes the visor pieces.
How much room is there left inside after adding the skull? Are the visor pieces heavy metal or more tin? When do you want it to open and close? At specified intervals? constant? etc.
