    I see some one made a fireplace mantle out of free stuff, cereal boxes my prop was nearly the same, as I got the Styrofaom free the lion head was given to me as a present and other materials maybe cost me under $10 , ihave to make some burning coals for it i saw a thred for that so that is an indoor project I can work on, sorry dont have building it picks

    I'm not easily impressed, but my verbal reaction to this was "Holy s**t!" I'm doing a Mad Scientist's Lab next year, and it will need a bit of ambient lighting. I might steal that idea. Thanks!

    Wow I really love the look and the idea ihauntu.

    I don't know how you approached this, your fireplace looks like a free standing one, but I would think it would also be pretty easy to make styrofoam pieces that "slip over" a current fireplace mantle and then get embellished. I'm hoping to do a halloween party this coming year and it would be great as room decor.

    Very, very nice. Thanks for the inspirational photo. What kind of paint and colors did you use?
