    Hi all,

I just read somewhere on the forum that people turn those wodden christmas reindeers into evil dogs for halloween. I'm interested and I have one of those reindeers that we dont put out anymore. Do any of you have tutorials, pictures or sugestions as to building one?

    Thanks,
    the halloweenie

in the step by step tutorial section there are a few of making wolves out of rain deer. An evil dog would take the same type of construction. So go to the tutorial section and check it out.

Wolf from an animated Christmas deer will be a good start. Just go more dog than wolf on the head.

That thread looks good, my reindeer is static, and it is made out of logs, so what type of material should I use to puff out the stomac, legs and neck? And what do you sujest I would use as a face?

    Thanks,

you can use the same ideas as in the animated deer thread really. the face, well, thats up to you. you could get a wolf mask and modify it..

This one takes the concept up a notch:

    Making of the Wolf

The soundtrack is a bit creepy and gravelly, and the prop isn't exactly "cheap". But it's nicely done. Very tasteful.

octoberist, Did you make the face yourself - it looks great - what did you use as inspiration?

Thanks. I made an earlier head that just didn't thrill me. Here it is:

So I added a wooden jaw and sculpted a more lively face (out of latex and paper towel and Crayola Model Magic), making it more of an exaggerated caricature.
