  1. Default My 2009 Halloween Pirate Display (pics/movies)

Well another year passed and my pro haunt (Haunted Corn) didn't happen again so I decided to upgrade my pirate display a bit. Please let me know what you think.

Here's the 2.0 version of my skeleton pirate costume. I figured the costume shouldn't look too new so I heavily distressed it using one of those circular sand paper disc attachments for cordless drills. It was very time consuming but it was worth it. I also created a skeleton under-suit using a full-size plastic skeleton. I took off the arms and legs and zip-tied them to black jeans and a tight black shirt. The chest is from Frightstuff.com

Here's me booty. There's about 18,000 fake coins here. I wish they were real.

I'm proud of this pile of gold. I used chicken wire, expanding insulation foam and gold coins of course:

This was inspired by that talking skull plaque at the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
I put it together out of stuff I had around

I made this guy last year and I still love him. A simple wiper motor moves the wheel.

Here's the cannon my buddy and I made. This looks awesome up close.
We used a sono tube and monster mud. The four bands are just black weather stripping. The open end is made from 2 inch pink insulation board. We cut 4 pieces at an angle with a band saw. Cut a hole in the middle of each one and glued them together, See below for the animated version of the cannon.

Here's some of the stuff above animated
