Yes that turned out really cool but you didn't post the picture correctly. You forgot the [img] at the front of the http address.
You should fix it because it really is a cool looking prop. And cheap considering its made from styrofoam and dollar store items!

Care to share how you did it? It really looks great! With this economy and the lack of new and exciting Halloween products, we should start a thread on props you can make from dollar store items. I've made a few things myself.

the stryofoam was free salvaged from the dump, i believe it came from a construction job or somthing, the pieces are 4 foot by 4 foot and about 8 inches thich some ten or twelve I found historical pics on horse driven hearses and went from there, dollar store items were garden fencing available in summer, the hearse is in 5 pieces i cut out the oval in the centre of the styro to create a window then made a 2 inch ledge and took the excess styro away to create the ledge, once i had the window defined i carved the side pillars bsically went from a photo, and added the plastic skellys onto the pillar and some other dollar store skelly hands. used lawn edging molding from the dollar store to make the top adornment and used parts of that molding for the inside of the adornment of the oval window.found some cheep crown moulding that is foam injected moulding from home depo to make the top portion of the hearse. I carved the ribbon at the bottom and put a latin saying onto it using a dremel tool.Death is only the begginning . i rounded the front and back and used a heat gun on parts of the dollar store lawn edging and formed them to the contours of the syro front . for the front and back used garden edging that had a gothic look ,traced that onto then piece of styro and used a dremel to cut out a hole wher i placed the dollar store skellys, , for this project i used pl 300 that bonds styro together and also will glue the plastic adornments to the styro as well.i reinforced areas with pallet wood also free so that i would be able to take it appart for storage. bonded the wood pieces to those areas . I used a piece of plywood for the bottom to hold it together and one on the top glued to the styro that was carved and rounded. added store bought gargoiles on the top .igave it a heat gun treatment to bond it and age the styro. after that applied a concrete mixture to give it rigidity.then painted using automotive sprayer airbrush and drybrushing

Hallow and absolutely beautiful! Stunning in fact! Obviously - your dead people have class and moolah!! Whereas our little hearse with its creepy cloth curtains is for the underworld class! LOL
Seriously though -- it is truly a beautiful work of art! Are the legs from a folding table -- or is it built on top of one? I think the oval window and candelabra on the coffin inside is perfectly lovely. And from what you said - it is the epitome of lightness!! I tip my hat to you fellow Hearse Builder! Bravo!
