Hi guys, Still working on the arms, legs and torso of my corpse...(It has spent SO much time in my kitchen/workshop...he has been adopted as part of the family, and is now referred to at my house as "Uncle Louie" .....anyway, Uncle Louie will soon be in need of a skull (which I will do demented things to)

Where would you recomend I go for a life size skull that will not be too bad a hit in the wallet ?

    Thanks all for your help.

well..........I bought two bucky skulls off ebay for $9.95ea they are really heavy tho, I had no idea they were as heavy as they are and being 4th quality they have issues, no big deal if you plan to cover them up tho, except the teeth, mine will take a lot of work to make the upper teeth presentable.

I have used this skull for a corpse head before and it worked very well and isnt heavy at all, problem is they go for about $20-$25 ea now days, when I bought mine they were $12....

Lindberg skull might be good I don't own one yet but they are lighter than a bucky skull. If you get two from the website below you can get free shipping.

K mart also had some decent skulls that had the color changing leds in them the ones I bought were already corpsified but I threw one it a bucket of water and all the paper mache stuff came off really easy leaving me with good clean skull. Of course the chance of kmart still having skull in stock is pretty slim now.

Thanks for your suggestions guys. And thanks for the links. Yes , I have been looking at the 4th quality skulls too, the ad said teeth may be missing or some discoloration etc. But it was just $13.00 And yes I do plan to cover it, so .....

BTW, I have made some teeth in the past with "sculply" clay. It comes in an off-white color (as well as others) and can be molded into teeth then baked in a regular oven. Comes out rock hard and you can sand it , drill it etc. Works well.

In my opinion, the best thing is to get yourself a nice Lindberg for $15-25 and make a mold of it...you can turn out hundreds of skulls for just the cost of the casting material. Search the forum for "skull mold" and I think you'll come up with a few tutorials

Mr. Chicken.....Thats a good idea too, I assume once the mold is cast....the future skulls would pay for themselves in time. (as I will be making more projects anyway) I'll look into that, Thanks !
