    It depends alot on size and where the prop will be. Small indoor projects I use regular craft paint as its cheap and they offer alot of good colors. Outside larger props might need something more weather resistant.

    I use water acrylic pant in the tube, I thin it down with water as needed and use a brush to apply it. I have used regular enamel paint and it flakes and peels pretty easy, but the Acrylic has not peeled or flaked yet.

    i use acrylic and sumtimes mix it in my latex that way it paints and latexes lol

    The most obvious (and cheapest?) is probably latex paint itself.

    thanks I have did some upper body cast and they came out pretty good It took 4 heavy coats to get it pretty thick now I just haft to paint it is going to be inside stuff nothing I would leave out in the rain or anything.. I found a old rusted meat hook and butcher stuff at yard sale and I m going to use it on this prop it should be pretty cool when I am done.. I will post some pics
