I have a question, is it possible to use a flood light motion sensor, the sensor part, wired strait to the button on a fogger control to trigger the fogger?
I was thinking, if I took the sensor off the light mount and wired directly to the controller button wires, would the sensor trigger and activate the fogger?

so is it so obvious to others this wouldnt work so no one is commenting or is it no one knows if it would work?
I would hate to destroy a fogger switch and a sensor light for nothing......any input would be appreciatedhttp://theyard.netii.net/

Scott. I don't see why you could not switch a fogger using a motion sensor. what you need to do is figure out which lead the hot or neutral the fog controller is switching then you can wire the sensor accordingly, From some of the previous discussions it varies with each fogger.
I seem to remember a thread not so long ago where there was some info on hacking a controler try a search of the props section and I'm sure you'll find enough info to do what you want. The only issue is that depending on the size of the fogger they cycle on and off for heating so you're sensor may call for fog but you'll get none because its in the heat mode.
best of luck

Just splice the trigger wires from the motion sensor onto the button wires, that way you can still use the fogger manually. Just remember it still has that nasty heatup period between bursts.

It still can used with a fog machine, they just take it a step farther and use it for a prop.

well, I was hoping that if I took the sensor wires and just connected them where the button wires were on a non-timer fog controller it would activate the fogger when something crosses the sensor, does anyone know if something that simple would work?
