For me, the only thing I know about mechanical props is how to plug one in
I've been motivated by everyone on the forum to build one of my own props. So hear is my vision...
I picture having a wedding scene in my haunt.
- I have already bought the bride (the animated midnight countess - spirit) (my first animatronic!)
- I have a piano player (static - body frame made out of PVC)
Now... I want to do something unique for the groom and the preist. I will probably make two body frames again but I want to attach a motor to one or both of them. I want to make my scene more lively. If any of you know a good and cheap motor that I could attach easily to one of the other standing figures to make it animated it would be greatly appreaciated.
Thank you,
the halloweenie

Yep, I built them, all use a version of the windshield motor (found at Monsterguts) and a scrap pc power supply. I got mine from other sources back in 2005 for a few bucks cheaper, but seem to be about the same.
The photo below is one more windshield motor prop, sorry cant find a video for it. It's a cam drive, lifts a prop up nicely and then drops it. I used it for 3 halloweens and then got tired of the prop as it no longer fit the theme of the haunt.

Thanks all for your thoughts. Do you think I would need to be advanced to do all the wiring (I'm 13)? Also, gravedigger greg, do you have a tutorial or pictures of the building of your props?
Thank you all again for the help,
the halloweenie
