Diablotek TVCR71 USB 17 in 1 TV Card Reader at TigerDirect.com
I bought 4 of these and ran them in our display this year with our projectors instead of DVD players.

They worked great. I exported our DVD to a Mpeg4 video file and copied it onto a 1GB SD memory card. The players are smart and if you set them to repeat once even after you turn them off they will repeat the same video each time it is played.

I didn’t have to do anything but turn them on and they looped the video all night long.

I paid $16.97 for each of them on ebay from TigerDirect. Just search for “TV Card Reader” to find lots of them.

What kind of projectors are you talking about?

LCD Projectors. Any video projector that has the normal yellow RCA connectors on it.

In my case I am using several different Models of Infocus projectors for the video effects in our display.

I also hooked one of these up to a B/W TV in the head of a monster mud creature instead of a DVD player.

davisgraveyard, what process did you use to turn your DVD into Mpeg4?

Can you store a whole dvd such as big scream TV dvd, Amazon.com: Big Scream TV: The Boo Tube! Volume 1: Movies & TV ?

    Thanks for your help.

Thanx for this find ! cuts down on some cost & storing large bulky dvd players.
Now if we can just find lower cost solution to the projectors without lower lumens or visual quality.......

Since the SD memory card can be any size you could easly rip a DVD to MPeg4 and store it on a 4GB or 8GB card and play the whole thing.

I use Pinnacle Studio 11 to create our ghost videos and it has options to save to file instead of burn to DVD so I just save out the project as a MPG file.

You can also save it out to a AVI too but they are a bit bigger and I wanted to use cheap 1GB SD cards.

    FYI WMV is NOT supported.
