O'k I need help. I need suggestions for props in a clown room. I would like to give it a nice atmosphere for the 'scary clowns'. Every hates clowns, so i need to have some good ideas for a room.
    Thanks

I did a funhouse clown theme in my bathroom this year. I got 3 white sheets and cut them into strips then hung them from the ceiling. I then added a few other colors, Red,Purple, Green and yellow sparingly. throw on a blacklight and some good funhouse music along with some creepy clown static props. It was a hit. I had adults declining to use our bathroom and elect to use the kids as it had all of the cutsie stuff in it.

I would do a dot room with static clown props and masks scattered around and a clown can chase them with a chainsaw.

Aside from either static/dynamic props or clown actors, add plexi-glass "mirrors" that you can bend to make inexpensive 'fun house' mirrors. An old color wheel from a (silver) Christmas Tree, coupled with a strobe light, might be a nice touch. Clown Comedy props, like juggling pins, modified into instruments of death would most likely set the tone you're looking for.

Also, add something that is sickeningly sweet and putrid smelling (just like a carnival) such as cotton candy candles or popcorn scented stuff and say, cigar butts or boiled cabbage, would add another layer to the atmosphere. Don't skimp on the creepy carnival music or lullaby melodies.

Depending on how elaborate you want to get, you can add in backdrops of distorted circus tent stripes, perhaps all the stripes on the walls meeting into a warped spiral on the ceiling? You could drape the area in striped fabric and back light with silhouettes of clowns with knives and stuff like that. Have fun!

great suggestions. I can see a few ideas here that I will have to try out. Thanks for the demented thoughts. I'm going to have to have something great. We only had a small set for a clown and some of the people as soon as they saw there would be clowns, they started to freak out. i would like to have a larger area where they have to walk right through the middle of it all. Clowns will be all over the place.

    Thanks again for the thoughts.

Oh you have to have to have some of those bicycle horns as startle scares! Cotton candy covered or dripping fake blood would be neat. Clowns that DON'T Smile or laugh are very creepy.
