I looking for ideas and suggestions. I have a real casket, and im trying to decide if i want to make the lid pop open or have the lid open and have my guy lift up. Either way both would be my first animatronic prop, so any suggestions would be outstanding. Thank you everyone in advance for you suggestions !!!

I'd go for the lid to open slowly, then a pause of 5 seconds or so and then the guy sits up quickly allong with the appropriate sound effects creaking door sound....loud scream suggest trying the Pico Boo 105 controller from fright Ideas.

pneumatics for the quick lift is the way to go. you could also use it to lift the lid but would have to use some flow control valves to make it lift slowly, or you could use some type of electric gear motor.
