I was really disappointed in how my black lights worked on my props. I was using 125 watt floods shinning close up on some ghosts. I see other props where the black light works very well and has a very good effect.

What types of black lights work best?

    Thanks.

There are other threads on here that explain it better than I can, but if the floods you were using were just incandescent bulbs than basically all you had were purple floods when what you need are UV bulbs. Either LED blacklights or fluorescent black lights (tube or CFL's). I used to wonder why my "blacklight" floods and bulbs weren't lighting things up. Then I found out on here what the problem was. This year I got (1) 48" tube, (2) 25" tubes, and (6) CFL. What a difference.

you need to use florescent (true) black lights to get a good effect, the incandescent bulbs dont work.

Thanks for the quick responses. I figured I was doing something wrong.
