My electric chair, and mad lab went off perfectly as planned. I was nervous because I only have a 1 car garage, so things can get cramped very fast. I knew I'd be scaring people, and I knew they'd need a fast exit out. So I put 2 tables to the side of the garage with a bunch of mad lab items (skulls, test tubes, jacobs ladder).
In the back of the garage was the showcase - the main event. My electric chair with control panel and actor.
From the street you were greeted with Hallowindow in the main window, the lamps flickering in the bedroom and kitchen, and a creepy graveyard. Looks innocent enough, right?
Then you have me and my actors (friends) luring you into the haunted garage.
I had everything on a wireless remote controlled power outlet - the fog machine, sound and strobes.
Once the ToTs were inside the garage I would hit the button to turn it all on. My friend in the chair would gyrate, and when I hit the button to turn the chair off he would go limp as if he was dead.
We would then hand out candy to the kids since they watched the show. As the last person got their candy my buddy would stand up, which would cause a chain reaction of screaming and running!
I've posted 2 videos below from YouTube which show some ToTs falling victim to the chair.
I will have a day-time haunt walk through that I'll post as soon as YouTube is done "processing" it. Should be soon!

I'll also post some day-time photos too as soon as I get them off my camera.
What do you think? I am VERY excited everything worked out. Everything came together better than I ever imagined.
SO much fun!![]()

Here's some daytime shots of the "lab". It kind-of sprinkled/rained this year, so the outside was toned down a bit so things wouldn't get wet and ruined. The threat of rain didn't hold anyone from coming out though!
We had about 150-200 ToTs show up (and nothing was advertised, they were just random ToTs). This was a big year! We ran out of candy and had to call in for more
One of my neighbors was so impressed she wanted to call the News to come out and do a story on us. That's crazy! I guess it also helped that nobody else in the neighborhood had anything setup.
As I was setting everything up I realized that the electric chair would be the center of everyone's attention, so I only put the little "lab" table props out to fill up the space, and to create an effect. You can't beat the sound the Jacob's ladder puts out!
I did not put out some medium sized props, including my floating bubbling brain in a jar.
For the chair, we ended up not going with the cushion on the seat, but rather for the back. I'll need to do something about the back for next year.

lol yeah we did, not everyone was scared! We actually ran out of candy once and had to call in for more because we had so many people.
We broke everything down as soon as the night appeared to end because we drew such a large crowd, we were nervous about theft and vandalism.

This is one of the funniest actor props I have seen. Great prop, excellent way to do yourself up with the extra padding, and getting up.
This is just a WINNER!!!!!
