Just finished our first year of handmade props! What a blast! Not a big layout by any stretch, but I was able to be outside a good bit and got lots of compliments! All of the kids were here (they are older) and all of them were helping at some point.
After hearing all of the compliments, my wife was finally getting into it! She wasn't all the excited about the whole thing, but when you hear a few kids ooh and ahh, she couldn't resist. I don't think next year I will have much problem getting her to green light more!!
Here are a few shots of our small set up!
And a huge thanks to all of those who posted their own props! Lots of inspiration to draw from out there!!

The TOT is my grandson! My daughters all came down because they heard I was putting some decorations out. I am so glad they came (and so was the wife). Both grandsons were here, the other is only 3 months so I didn't get a shot of him out!
I am already thinking of what to add for next year! I only started a few weeks ago, so this was small. Plenty of ideas out there for next year and will be seeing more after tonight I am sure!
I got warned by my daughter that a small child was going to be here and not make it too scary. Which is funny since when they were visiting down here last year none of my kids would answer the door because "a shady guy in a van was at the door". They called me at work and wanted to know who I was expecting at the house. I told them no one, but find out what the guy wanted. They refused to answer the door. A new coworker heard part of the conversation and then heard me and another co-worker talking about it when it was over. When she realized that my three daughters who refused to answer the door were college juniors and sophomores, she remarked that she had been wondering why we left our "young" children home alone! It was priceless.
