I recently joined this forum to get ideas on how to make a casket - good info - fun site.

I recently purchased a small fogger (Venue Ultra mini 400watt w/ 1 liter capacity) - it was inexpensive, so I am aware of its limitations. I am wondering how to operate it. The unit has a basic on/off wired remote. My goal is to have the unit create fog for about 1.5 - 2 hours while I take my kids around trick-or-treating. From what I have gathered the 1 lter capacity should last about 2 hours with continuous use (am i correct?). My question is will the unit cycle on and off if the button remains in the "on" position, providing a flow of steam after every heat cycle (4-5 minutes), or will I have to press the button every 4-5 minutes? I don't want to buy a timer if the machine will run by iteslf. I will make a simple chiller to get a low lying fog. Thanks in advance for any thoughts, comments or concerns?

You will need a timer if you want it to run every 4-5 minutes. Without one, you will need to press the button on the controller that came with it.

You likely purchased a gemmy fogger. I believe that target has the timers for gemmy foggers. Hurry up though, Halloween is just days away!

I have in the past just taken a clamp from the garage, and just clamped the button down. That is what I plan on this year, we have 5 of the 400 watt cheapos going in my friends 80'x35' front yard. Next year I am just buying a 1300watt and building a reverse flow chiller. They lasted for about 2 hours like that, last year.

If the button is pushed down, it will fog. Even after the heat cycles, if you are good at electronics you can just soldier a jumper instead of the switch. This will let it fog whenever it is able to.

thanks for the feedback. i may grab a timer just to have as a back up, and will do a dry run to see what happens. i have not looked at the switch too carefully, but i think it might be a toggle swiotch, which leads me to beleive it is either on or off. Will post back with results.

I reread your post and you don't have a gemmy fogger, as you stated. The timer at target will not work with your fogger.

I have the same type of switch on mine that you do, if you toggle the switch on the fogger will run until it needs to reheat then once it reheats it will blast again. Just make sure the fogger doesnt run dry of it's likely the fogger with break.

thanks for all the feedback. any idea how long 1 liter will last in a 400watt unit, i am assuming the lower the wattage, the less fluid it will consume. Do you think it will go 2 hours?
