We use lots of ice, but we still have a problem getting it to lay down. We often have slight breezes that are so slight we can't even feel them or see any leaves or branches moving, but it's enough to keep the fog going up. Are there any other tricks to help it stay down?

Wetting the ground helps. (Shouldn't be a problem with the rain everyone has been getting!)

Other than that, the only way to stop wind is a barrier.

Dry ice didn't help when we tried that, and the wet lawn idea is impossible with out setup. But keep em coming if there are any more ideas. (i know there likely aren't but i had to try)

It is easy if you do it indoors or outdoors where there isn't even a slight breeze. I use that method too....chiller pipe with ice in it. But i need a way to make it work under less than ideal conditions. Not likely to happen i suppose, but i wonder if there is a way to make the fog heavier aside from ice.

I don't care if you have the best chiller in the world, even the slightest breeze will ruin the effect. There's not much you can do about that.

try a fog chiller? Basically a trash can filled with a spiraled dryer vent hose, with ends protruding on the bottom from each side...then fill the trashcan with regular ice (about 3 or 4 20lb bags), jam fog machine into one hose end...fog travels thru the hose, past the ice, which cools it down and makes it hug the ground...just google fog chiller or search halloweenforum for fog chiller...
