I have been reading this group for a couple of years now but have never posted. Yesterday I finally completed the install of my latest prop. It's a life sized witch that flies on a broom over my garage roof, 2 stories up. I've put some videos up on youtube of it for you to enjoy.

OH WOW!!!!! That is incredible!!! How long did it take you to make it and get her flying right? Are you going to add any additional lighting?

serpensphile : Thanks. It took me about 3 weeks total. The drive system and flying arm took about 4 days total. Electrical took 3-4 days and the witch took the rest. I built it from scratch with PVC, expanded plastic mesh, landscape fabric, pipe insulation, a Spirit Severed With Head, cheap gloves and a Kmart wig and hat.
scareisburg: I only used PVC to build the rough frame for the witch's body. Everything else is Steel, EMT Conduit, and Treated Lumber. I will probably replace the treated lumber with Steel in the next couple of years.
Thanks for the welcome and wonderful comments. Happy Haunting.

Gary, I'm not running it 24/7. Just in the evenings for a couple of hours. It uses a 1/3 HP AC motor I swiped from a Harbor Freight benchtop drill press (only good use I have found for one of these yet). It drives a 40:1 gear box via 2 pulley steps to get me down to 4.3 rpm (by math not timing) which is still a bit fast for me. I'd like to get to about 3 rpm but have not found the right pulley yet. Check out the video on my youtube page that shows the drive system.
