I was in the Spirit store today and they had a Mist Maker (Fog). You submerg it in a bowl water 3 inches deep and it makes fog. Has anyone used this? If you placed is in a cauldron, would it generate enough fog to roll out the top?

those misters are actually sold with cauldrons so yes it will work but, the fog usually wont go above the rim and if you raise the mister you'll need to raise the water and unless you put a cover over the top of the mister it spits water everywhere.

The Mist Maker I bought at Spirit just makes a tiny, tiny (though pleasant) bit of fog in my skull-themed punch bowl - and that's inside the house with no hint of breeze to disperse it. I think you would be disappointed with the result outside.

I mixed fog juice (1:1) into my little cauldron and I get a pretty good wafting effect. My cauldron has been running every night since the first of October and hasn't stopped working.

I have a Spirit Mister, and was pleasantly surprised by it. I also happened to pick up a black plastic cauldron for like a buck somewhere. Because the cord has a stopper on it, I was able to drill a small hole in the back of the cauldron, run the cord through, and then put the stopper in the hole to make the entire thing leak-proof.
While the fog doesn't really creep out over the top, it does create a nice effect, particularly if you've got something (like a skull) inside the cauldron.
The only thing I DON'T like about it is the LED lighting. It automatically changes colors, and I'd like an easy way of having a solid color, but that's just the control freak in me.
It's a great little effect for the money.Recipe for haunting success-
