I love the Bates Haunted house and splurged and purchased the DVD- had to have the singing pumpkins. Big Kudos to Mr. Bates. I'll use the dvd this year but will add to it's idea. So here's my idea.
I have two second floor windows facing the street. The Bates video has a large eyeball projected from his single front window so it doesn't work for my house.
I believe the way the huge eyeball was created (just guessing) was by cutting out a hole the shape of an eyeball in black construction paper. Then video a closeup of someone's eye (just one eyeball) moving up, down, blinking, etc. (the black construction paper should frame just the eyeball.) Transfer the video to a dvd and "loop" it for continuous play.
Here's where my idea comes in. 2 TV's, one dvd player, one long stereo audio cable (I bought a 36 ft. one from Radio Shack) and one audio y-cable.
My plan is to place a TV in each of my two 2nd floor windows. I'll put the dvd player halfway between each window (for me that's in the hallway that connects both bedrooms). I'll put the single end of the audio Y-cable into the dvd player then I'll divide the audio cable down the middle so the one end goes to one tv and the other goes to the other tv in the other room. The radio shack guy helped me with this and tells me that the audio cable will transmit the video.
The result should be 2 eyeballs projected in unison in my 2 different windows from a single dvd player. It will look like a huge "something" is in my 2nd floor looking down at anyone passing by. (Didn't want the eyeballs moving separately every which way).
Hope it works out well.

This should work out great! The audio cable will transmit the video just fine. If your idea for recording the eye doesn't pan out, another option you may consider is the Hallowindow DVD. I think Hallowindow II has a large single green eyeball that would work great. It's part of the sequence, but it is also an "extra" and looped just the eyeball by itself.
I have two old 32" TVs that just sit in my garage for poker night. Consider your idea stolen! And thanks!

The ability to transfer calibrations between near-infrared instruments is important for the acceptance and spreading of the technology. A method called transfer by orthogonal projection is proposed for deriving calibrations that are robust to between-instrument variation, and thus may be transferred without adjustment.

I used this and it has worked well for me. They even mention using a splitter for two tvs.
