That's right after 15 years of haunting a local neighbor complained and now it's shut down. Saw this on the local news this morning and I would be very angry. It's your typical maze with black trash bags hiding the framework and props inside. They said it was a fire hazard because of the strobe lights and extension cords. Also building permits were needed. Huh? He said the only way he can reopen is if he gets the fire dept/police. to stand watch during halloween. Even kids were posting signs on his close down entrance saying to reopen and they are sad.

Someone must have complained. That's all it takes it one person to ruin it for everyone else!

I won't get into laws and who makes them and all that. Just know that some of us at City Hall don't want to enforce these bogus rules, but will get sued if we get a report from a "concerned citizen" (angry/jealous neighbor) and don't follow up.
And the salary is terrible. I promise.Post a picture of your costume/decoration/party at my website www.halloweenisbetter.com!!!!!

I had a similar problem last year, and the guys at the building permit office were really cool about it, they charged me the minimum amount and came out and inspected my sphinx structure. It was a pain I didn't want to deal with, but the people that have to enforce these stupid laws don't really want to - they are more interested in inspecting permanent buildings.

Ok, here is how we handled a very similiar problem. We contacted the local police department Explorer Program, affiliated with the Boy Scouts, and they have been providing security and a stand by presence for the past 9 years.
