So yesterday after work i took some advice from here and was moving around some of my tombstones. I changed up some lighting and i see my neighbor walking from her house to ours. She tells me she loves the whole setup except for that (she points at my skeletons on the crosses). I tell her "yeah they tend to make people feel a little uneasy". She says "why do you think that is?" i reply "because its a skeleton on a cross!!" i then go on to tell her that back in the days before Jesus was crucified that was how thieves and murderers were dealt with. Crucifiction has been around long before the days of Jesus. So i won that battle but we'll see who else mentions anything.
Just though i'd share that with you.![]()

"...And out of the darkness, the Zombie did call
True pain and suffering he brought to them all
Away ran the children to hide in their beds,
for fear that the devil would chop off their heads..."

You know, if all the people in the world that feel they need to say something over something as stupid as a skeleton on a cross at halloween time would stop, we'd have a MUCH more peaceful world. It's not like you have it up year round. It's halloween. It's meant to be scary. I mean, sure, if it was christmas and you put it up (or leave it up that long), that may warrant a comment or four, but at this time of year. Gees. People need to find better things to do with their time.

I'm not suprised....it seems like anything with religious symbolism (or what unintelligent people consider a religious symbol..aka crosses) used for anything other than in a Church they automatically consider blasphemous with no thought process involved....
The world would definatly be a better place without ancient old religions in a modern time.

Good for you, tell her you'll reserve a spot for her next year.. if she keeps poking her nose in.

Funny... we were just talking about those skeletons last night. I had wanted to put one of our corpsed Barneys on our gate with his arms tied out at 90 degrees and my wife refused. She didn't want anything that looked like crucifixion in any way. I'm not sure why since we're not religious at all (atheists as a matter of fact) but she was adamant. I think I might know why now though!
They look great by the way... extra special creepy.

Didn't you know all history was written and invented just for her belief system (sarcasm)? Is everyone truly so ignorant about that little book to not understand this (more sarcasm)?
I'm thinking my next years theme will be The Spanish Inquisition. I will run about and poke people with The Fluffy Pillow.
What doesn't kill you can still make you walk funny.
