I'm assuming people don' use Times New Roman. I bet anything with Gothic in the font title would work. But I'd like to find out what others are using as well.

I've used all kinds of fonts including times new roman, lucida caligraphy, rage italic, Tw Cen MT Condensed Extra Bold, old english. All came included on wordpad.
As far as the font size goes, I find out how long I want the line of text to be with a tape measure on the tombstone blank and just try and visualize how it will look then write it out in wordpad and play with the font size till I get that length.
One of my tombstones had the name AYERS that I wanted to be 10" long so I typed it up in wordpad in a font the looked good then kept changing the font size till the letters added up to 10". I think it came out to 175 point size. The height of my letters are determined by the font/bold.

These are some of the fonts I use:
Viner Hand ITC
Creepsville
Chiller
Gypsy Curse
Parchment
Old English Text MT
Bloodfest
If you don't have the fancy ones on your version of word, you can download fonts from several sites for free. You have to watch that the fonts have all the characters and symbols though.

I love the RUBEN font. It is the same one that the Halloween Forum Logo is. If you need to download, just send me a PM or I'll try to attach it...
Ruben___.ttf
Didn't work..."CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT YOU KNOW..." "I KNOW"

Love this site : Halloween Fonts - Fontenstein - A Castle Full of Halloween Fonts
I also lurk around this site 1001 Free Fonts - Download Free Fonts - Windows and Macintosh Fonts, but it's more time-consuming as the fonts are not categorized per say; they're just in alphabetical order...
Hope you find what you need!
