Hey everybody!
This is my first post here. I have been doing the home haunting for years now and just discovered this sight. I new yard haunting was big, but had no idea that it had this kind of following.
Now my question,
I have had this Hauntmaster Flex ECT with the included infrared sensor, for about 5 years now. Every year I take it out and try to get it ti work, but have no success.
I have read the instructions on the sight, and they just aren't very clear. I have a lamp plugged into it just to "test" it out.
It is my understanding that the left knob is set to how long you want the prop activated, and the right nob is for how long you want the prop to remain off. I have it set to T1 and it just doesn't work as advertised. Do I need to do something special to the sensor?
All help is GREATFULLY appreciated.
Thanks Ryan

I have four of these and they all work perfectly.
Are you sure you have everything plugged in.
There are two power supplies.
One for the unit itself and another for the 9 volt battery. You must use either a 9volt battery here or the 9volt battery eliminator adapter. Try setting both the T1 and T2 knobs to 1. The unit should power on for a second and the go off for a second. Also try using a paper clip to the terminals where the motion detector is attached. That sould trigger the unit. If it does, then there is a problem with the motion sensor.
Here is a link to the instructions FECT.html
You should call them. The guy that make these is pretty helpful.
I have had a lot of success with these in my haunt.

The motion sensor works, however it is so hit and miss...Ill wave my hand in front of it and nothing will happen, then it will erratically turn on and off.
I have both nobs at 1 and it doesn't seem to help. As of now it just seems to work like a random timer, which does not give the desired effect.
any other pointers?

I have not had that problem. I know others have had problems using them outside where the temperature is cold. It could be a bad motion sensor.
Give them a call!!!

thanks! I wont bother u any further after this last question..http://www.halloweenforum.com/images...es/biggrin.gif
When you run your hand past the sensor, does it turn on with no problem?
FYI I am testing this inside my house right now so I would assume the temp would not be affecting it.
Thanks again!

Yea.
Mine come on fine. I used 3 of them last year in my haunt and they worked great. I bought another this year. I even crushed the plastic cover on one and it still works great. I am guessing the motion sensor is defective.
