Hi! First time poster here.
All of these ideas are very inspiring!
I am looking for a way to make pillars with bones/skulls appearing to be embedded on them.
We are planning on making matching mud monsters (say that 10 times fast!) to stand on the pillars.
Do you use spray foam? Monster mud?
Any help would be wildly appreciated.

Best way to probably be to slice the skull and bones to whatever thickness you you prefer and monster mud them in place. Since your using monster mud, I take it you are making stone looking pillars.

Maybe get styrofoam skulls and bones and cut them in half and then gorrilla glue the flat surface to the sides of the pillars.... then fill in the seam where the bone and the pillar meet with window chaulking and then paint to match.

i saw a post last year that did the hole in the plaster look where most put bricks but they put bones and expanding foam make it look like the piller was built out of human body parts and then plastered up.
