So, here's a teaser shot of the almost completed mad scientists lab. In this scene is the control panel, Jacob's Ladder and sit-up patient props we built. My wife also built a small bubbling tube prop modeled off the awesome Stelter Creative Frankenstein lab props. It's on the control panel table to the right side. This room is in our garage and built out of a pipe canopy frame and black plastic sheeting walls and ceiling.

I'll post more (and closeups) when I can.
Simply awesome. What do you have going on for a soundtrack? Maybe add some Doc Brown -- "1.21 Gigawatts!"

Awesome job. The lab and Jacobs ladder look very cool. An inspiration.

I was just thinking about you and your props today so was delighted to see your post. The props turned out terrific, as well as the lighting. Looking forward to your videos. What voice track did you end up going with for the white haired guy? Hubby hooked up our mp3 to ours just last night and now I'm debating who he should be and what he should say. Thanks for the hack. Couldn't have done it without you.

Thanks for all the kind comments! We actually rearranged the lab tonight after some test runs. People weren't getting close enough to the patient (who sits up and screams under a strobe light as all the rest of the lights, including the panel indicators and Jacob's Ladder under-cabinet, go out). The patient is now next to the control panel with the Jacob's Ladder and Dr. Shivers on the other side. Unfortunately my Dr. Shivers expired today so I'm having to rework the scene. It was going to be the head and Dr. Shivers arguing. I had it all complete with the audio track. Major bummer. I recorded the audio myself and adjusted it in Audacity. It came out quite good I think. Hallowindow is playing in other part of the garage so that'll provide a great background soundtrack.

You can't see the rest in this picture but I'll try and put up more. You walk in down a 10' long and 2' wide hallway with a motion activated 55 gallon drum based trashcan trauma awaits. After that it's into the main room you see in the picture. Opposite from the control panels is a 8' x 3' cage with metal bars. I'll be in the cage along with a dummy. I'll be dressed and setup to look like a dummy too. I manually trigger the patient at the right time and then I'll be scaring people from behind. I hope it all works!

More pictures soon!

Mike
