Anyone ever make a fake pumpkin vine?

I've looked around at craft and floral sites, and no one sells anything remotely like the real thing that I can find, you know, thick and with those huge leaves.

If you were gonna make one, what you suggest? I'm hoping for posable or easily shaped, so I'm thinking of a heavy craft wire for the core.
