Okay, I was hunting the net for a project and found a corpse arm wall sconce on http://www.hauntershangout.com so I decided to make one, heres my version, I used a PVC candle instead of a AC light fixture because I wanted to mount it anywhere. I used the same basic technique to make the arm/hand but I used newspaper for the "meat" of the hand and arm and then covered it all in yellow masking tape and added wrinkles to the tape to give a dehydrated corpsy look to the arm, then I covered it in latex and painted it.

thanks, it didnt take long to make at all, a few nights...the thing that took so long was waiting for the 4 coats of latex to dry.

I was going to make the sconce, but my grim reaper hands (same technique) took so long to make that I figured my time could be used elsewhere. The smell of liquid latex is nauseating...

By the way, good job. I like the tea light idea better also.

    That is great!

If the smell of latex bothers you, couldn't something very similar be made just using paper mache? Just a thought.

That is a great idea - how did you attach the PVC candles to the hand/arm?
