So i have two Bucky skeletons in my Graveyard this year acting as grave diggers. I bought a top hat and a derby for them but there heads are too small so the hats sit extremely low on them. Anyone have any ideas on how i could make them fit without looking cheesy?
Thanks in advance,
Nick

I tried that already with bubble wrap. You can see it too easily because the hats are some what tilted up. I think i am SOL. Either that or i need to perform som serious surgery to those hats and cut them in quarters and then reglue them together but i thin that would show way to much.

How about cutting a thin plywood ring (O.D. the size of the hat, I.D. the size of the Bucky skull.). Then just staple the ring inside the hat and paint it black (or the color of the hat). You should then get a nice fit on the Bucky skull.

Maybe you could hot glue the bubble wrap in the back of the hat, then glue a small piece of material (felt square cut to size) over it so you don't notice the bubble wrap. Since they are tipped up it may not be noticeable.

Both are good ideas. I'm gonna think about it and try and decide what to do. Part of me almost wants to leave the hats off but i hate seeing the hanging hardware on the top of the head. We'll see...

how about a piece of foam on top of the bucky's head so the hat seems to "float" on his head in the correct spot?

In all honesty i worry about the wind blowing the hat away so it needs to be a snug fit. Good idea though Spookym.

This is a great idea. Cut a foam ring O.D. size of the that, I.D. a little smaller than the bucky head. Glue it in the hat, paint it black and it should give you a real nice snug fit. Although with some of the winds we get around here, you may want to also glue the foam to the bucky's head also.
