Can someone please tell me how many volts is a single standard miniature christmas type light? I read on the net it was 2.5, then I read on the included instructions it was 6.0 volts. Thank ya.

Depends how many lights are on the string. From what I understand, string lights take the 110/120 you get from the wall and each light gets a portion of it. So in theory, a 10 light string would be 12 volt lamps.
I didn't research it or anything, but that's what makes sense in my head. lol

It depends on how many lights in the string.
normally 50 and 100 light strings are 2.5V (2.5V x 50 = 125V) the 125V is close enough to the power coming out of our wall sockets to work. the 100 light strands are two 50 light strand wired in parallel. Two wires are attached to the hot side of the plug, one feeds the first 50 lights, the second wire runs past the first 50 lights and feeds the second 50.
if you have a string with 10 or 20 lights the lamps (and the voltages) will be different.- Brad

Ive got an unopened card of the minature lights and it says "2.5 volt for ul 50 , 100,& 150 light sets,150 16 function light sets. Hope this helps. I just hooked up a 3 volt power supply and the light is burning at what I would think is a normal brightness.
