I lost my power cord. If anyone has this Butler could you tell me what Amps it requires. I know it's 9V. I plugged a 9v 2a into it and his eyes move and sounds come out of the speakers but his head and mouth do not move. Maybe I do not have the right power cord or something is wrong with my butler. Any suggestions would help. Thanks

Is this the guy you are talking about?

I bought one this summer in a big lot of props. When I pulled him out of storage, I realized that I didn't have the adapter either! Mine says 6VDC:

I used a different 6V power supply to see if he would power up, and i verified the the polarity was correct - but he no workie!

I took the bottom off and several capacitors were blown apart:

I'll try to fix him before next year, but he will have to be static this year.

Worst comes to worst, I can stuff a PROP-1 in him.

Not too big of a deal, he was included in a bunch of other props that I really wanted.

Mine says 9v DC 2000mA with a positive (+) center and a negative (-) outer.

I just got mine, but its missing the plug and microphone. Any ideas on where to pick one of these up? Radio Shack had a multi-volt plug and then you have to pick the correct adapter to use on it for $40.00. A little steep I think...

I took a look at my Gemmy Edwardian Butler (the guy with the serving tray) and my adapter reads as follows

    AC ADAPTER
    ...
    MODEL JOD-41U-30
    ...
    OUTPUT DC 9V 600ma

    Center positive

There are some 9VDC 2A (or higher) units on this page:

There are also some 600ma ones on there.
