Thread: Help- American DJ MiniFog with Fitco timer- how to make it work?

Hello all, I've been searching, and have found clues, but no real answer.

I have an American DJ MiniFog with a standard remote.
Bought a remote at the Spirit shop today -it's a Fitco remote. See my next post for a picture of it.
Now, I've tested the wiring- it seems that the AmericanDJ uses a Ground/Hot to turn on the manual button.

The Fitco uses a Ground/Neutral for the manual button to work.

So, I cut up the cord and swapped the neutral/hot wires. The manual button now works, but the timer is kinda not working- it might work once, and then not again until you unplug it and replug it.

I plugged it in for a bit unmodified when I first got home- I might have hurt it, but I doubt it.

Any ideas besides buying a different timer? I know I'm smarter than the timer...
