Hey guys-
ok, I've been sick and am all doped up on stuff, so I might be missing the obvious here-
I got a wiper motor. I connect the low speed pin to the +12v, the one below it to ground. Then, I connect the parking switch to ground, and it runs...
Well- sorta. When I connect the parking switch, the motor moves, but it 'ticks' like a clock's second hand. The shaft moves a few degrees, stops. Then moves a few degrees, stops. it just keeps going on and on like that. NOW- SOMETIMES, I connect the parking switch, and it returns to the home position like it's supposed to. Other times- it just ticks like that.
Now, if I can get it to move constantly, while moving back to the home position, I reconnect the parking switch- it stays on constantly and keeps going until I disconnect it.
What am I missing here? I thought if I have the low hooked up to +12v, the ground is grounded- and then I connect the parking switch, it'll go to the home position and stop. What am I missing?

I got the same results from the wiper motor I purchased from Allelectronics.com. I never managed to get the park function to work. I resorted to stripping off all the electronics and running power directly to the motor.

I had this working properly last year- and I need the park function as it resets the start/stop position in my prop. I DO believe I got this from allelectronics tho...

Do you have this one from All Electronics?
SOLD-OUT | AllElectronics.com
I have noticed that it does that when you hook it up according to the included instructions:

if you reverse the + and - it will run fine.- Brad

Yes that's it! So I'm confused- what do you connect, where? You say reverse the + and -, but what about the parking switch? Which do you connect it to?

ok tried that. Switched them, and when the parking switch is connected, it RUNS CONSTANT, but it doesn't use the parking switch at all (it- there's no way to return it to the home position)...

Specter I have several of this motors and If I recall you connect the + and the - to the bottom terminals then if you run a jumper from the ground and touch it to one of the pins for just a moment is should rotate exactly one revolution. If you leave the jumper connected it will run continously. The instructions will tell you which pin it is.
Also, FYI I found that the new 5V power supplies from monster guts will not start this motor unless you remove the electronics inside the plastic cover and connect directly to the motor contacts.

scarie-
I appreciate the input! I'm using 12v power supplies I got elsewhere- they work great when I run the motor continuously...
Can you tell me which pins I connect to where specifically? Here's the diagram...

Specter, conect the lines from you power supply to the 12V+ and 12V- as shown in the diagram. Then connect a wire from the 12V- and touch it to pin 5 as shown for a second or so the motor should rotate one time. Leave it connected and it will rotate continously.
When your done you will have two wires connected to the 12V- terminal, one to the 12V+ and one to pin 5.
Best of luck

Scarie-
That's exactly what I've done, and it jitters as I described. It's very odd and doesn't work as per the manual...
