My motion activated coffin that died in a flood of my shed was redone to be my new chiller. I took all of the insides of my trashcan chiller and put it in my coffin. I insulated it with foam board to hopefully make it stay colder.I will post a video as soon as I can.

You know..I was going to say.. damn waste of a good prop.. but actually, it looks like you'll still be able to use the coffin as a prop with fog rolling out of it.

I personally did not care for the dryer vent coiled chiller... unless you're packing the coils directly with ice/dry ice. If you're just burying it with ice/dry ice, I found that the fog, while somewhat chilled, heated up too quickly after it came out. The direct contact with ice/dry ice seems to chill it down much lower/faster and helps keep it lower longer. That said, perhaps it's not the effect you're going for anyway. Either way, I am looking forward to seeing a video of it in action. Perhaps I built my old chiller wrong.

Incidentally, are you going to put some sort of rubber seal around the lid to make it somewhat air tight?

I had really good results with the trashcan chiller. It is usually warmer here in Louisiana than most areas so it doesn't have to be as effective at cooling the fog as other designs. Oh and yes it will be in my graveyard as a prop the fog should mostly hide the output hole. I made the lid fit pretty tight so I think that it will seal pretty good. I figure the trashcan had no insulation so I should have alot better results here with the wood and foam. I am planning on redoing it for next year with a different design possibly the vortex type but I am not sure.

Ah.. good point, if it's somewhat warmer, you will be fine then. The vortex is nice..works well.. my fogger was too powerful for the 60qt one I made last year even with dry ice, but it did ok.. just didn't have enough time with contact on the dry ice so it rose after a few seconds.
