Reverse Fog chiller loosely based upon the same concept as a Reverse Flow BBQ Smoker.Anyone who knows what that is might very well be saying DOH! right now..... It is easy to make, and it works quite well.

Version 2.0 will be shaped like a coffin, lined with 2" thick insulation board... and a lot more ice. Quite possibly blocks of ice.

the idea is there but what you need to do is cool the air coming into or out of the fan your warming up the air with the fan blowing warm air on the cooled fog;also as a reverse flow you need ice in the underside to to super chill the fog why was the space?and what whould be the point if not for more cooling.

Have to agree with daddywoof... the fan is bringing in warm air..so you're basically cancelling the affect of the first chill. If you can seal the top part tight, and blow the fog thru the bottom part and load that up with ice, you'll get a better low lying fog. Another thought, turn the fog amount down if possible. That fogger is too strong... not giving it near enough time to chill. It will also allow you to fog for a lot longer without reheat cycle kicking in. You said Antari 1200.. that's an expensive and good fogger, so I would hope that if you turn the volume down to about 30 to 35% output, you could keep it going continuously. I know antari's are one of the best and there heater should be very good, so hopefully it can stay on all the time.

The fan is not noticeably heating the air. The air coming out is cool. The idea with the fan was to establish a draft, as seen with the lid off.... it is drafting quite well.
The final version will have a lot more ice, about 4 times as much. And yes, i could stand to turn down the 'volume'.... however my dream is to accomplish a high volume, high flow chiller.

I hope it works! That is pretty kewl. You definitely thought of a creative way to do it with almost no cost! It's great you can take advantage of your surroundings like that to make a uber cheap chiller, and that once directed, it goes where you want it! Good luck to you, please post another video when you have it all done and working the way you like!

nice work but its kind of a Rube Goldberg way of doing it. May I suggest a 2" x2' piece of abs pipe fill of dry ice on the end of your fogger? Works better and simpler! Don't get me wrong your ingenuity is admirable!
