Did anyone ever try or think of using the motor from this 8" or 14" circulating desk fans? The shafts on these motors are typically 1 1/2" and motors are continious. I was just curious because I wanted to use an AC motor for an Axworthy ghost but since the lowest setting still has a high RPM, maybe I could just plug it into the router speed controller from HF?

    Thoughts?

They're not able to take any real load at all. Moving your Axworthy would be tough. Unless it was super lightweight and zero friction from your wheels.
The only thing I've ever used them for is head turning...back and forth...back and forth...kind of boring, but it works in a pinch.
