I have a dark doorway you walk by and when you break the plane of the entrance i have a clown figure i want to have fly towards you from the back of the room using either an overhead zip line of some kind or a ground mounted track with a rolling sled....How would you do it?

Maybe a lighting effect would be the simplest. If its dark enough in the doorway, have the prop there and light it up, triggered by a motion detector.
Or of course you could spend a lot of time and money designing a mechanical prop. If that were the case a pneumatic "jumper" would be sure to scare!
Zip line might not work so well. a swinging prop would work, but would need to be reset manually.
