This year I am building pillars from OSB and coated with Monster mud this year for the entry gates and corners of my Cemetery fence. for 4 4 foot tapered pillars it cost me about $30. Here is the progress thus far.

These are the pieces ready to be assembled. I get 2 Pillars out of a 4 x 8 sheet of 1/4 inch OSB and 4 - 8 foot fur strips. They are 12 inches by 12 inches at the base and eight by eight at the top.

teh pieces are glued and brad nailed together. Making an obelisk form.

the 4 sides assembled waiting for a cap and monster mud

and finally the sided pillar beside the first two pillars

These look great! Thanks for sharing. Gives me a good visual on where to go for my pillars. Planning to do 12" X 12" all the way up going 6' high with some sort of molding on the top and bottom. Plan is to build them sturdy enough to tie into my fencing.

These weigh in about 7 pounds apiece. I still plan on anchoring them with rebar and pvc on the inside of the pillars.

    BTW I love your Icon
