So I'm reworking my cemetery columns this year; adding some trim and some new toppers. I'm looking at these gargoyles or these dragons. The dragons would run a bit over half of what the gargoyles would cost but I'm figuring that I could go with either. Which do you think would look better. Thanks for your input.

I got a gargoyle similiar to that from big lots last year. I stuck it on top of a sign post I had. Came back 2 hours later to see it blown over and a chunk broken off.
So two considerations
1. Make sure it is secured.
2. Make sure it is water proof if you are going to leave it out.

Since I put my columns out early, my plan is to make a "second top" for them, to which I'd adhere the statue. On Halloween night, I'll attach the second top to the "first top" via some screws. This way it won't be vandalized or exposed to the elements for a month.

Either would be fine, but I like the gargoyles for a cemetery. That's what I have on mine.

The dragon is so nice, but I have to vote for the gargoyle. It's perfect for cemetery columns.

I would check around, tho. There has to be some cheaper yet still suitable versions out there... I bought a gargoyle with the cloth wings at Walgreens last year for something like $10-12 and there is this one currently at Walgreens (middle right of the pic) that is solid plastic, lights up (or not if you don't want that - you can't tell it does it until it does if that make sense) for $15 each... Not sure they'd be large enough tho!

Thanks! I really want something large and imposing. My column tops are 19" square so something too small will be lost. I've been looking for months and finding gargoyle statues is not a problem, but finding affordable ones that are the right size is impossible. I really like these from Kmart and while they're pricey, they would look really neat in my set-up. I like the dragons as well since we have a dragon head over the doorway to our haunt.

I just posted over on hauntforum...

I'm changing my vote after seeing the dragon you already had... go with the dragons!
They'll look awesome!
