who has had experience with good quality tea lights? i just bought 2 sets of rechargeable ones from grandin road, and they are terrible! the lights wont "stick" to the charging base.
Has anyone ever tried to hack one and hook up regular batteries to them? if possible?

Don't know who has the best tea lights, it's kind of a crap shoot. Here's a hack that shows you how to install a brighter LED and attach a battery pack (4AA). I used the 4AA batteries because the voltage (6VDC) was able to run the flicker circuit without frying it, and allowed a higher voltage to go to the LED. So far I've had no failures. I did fry one light by using a 9 volt battery without a limiting resistor. The 9 volt makes for a smaller package, but you'd need to use a resistor to prevent killing the flicker circuit.
