Thread: Glue for (pink) foam props?

I struggle with this every year. What kind of glue is good for the pink insulation foam? I will be making signs, large and small. Contact cements eats it, and hot melt glue burns through. Is there some kind of glue that works well?

Foamboard adhesive. Liquid nails makes it as well as whatever that other company is that makes the adhesives and caulks at Home Despot...PL or something like that.

I've also heard of people having good luck with Gorilla Glue and even Elmers!

Gorilla glue!!!!!!!!!! Be sure to lightly mist surface with water after spreading adhesive and clamp it, it does expand

Use the foam board adhesive from liquid nails, I swear by it. Gorilla glue, heard varying results with it....our forum friend TK found out that it will eat the white foam board, so not sure how it will interact with pink or blue.

I've always had good luck with Titebond II carpenters glue (the indoor/outdoor type). It's got the same consistency of elmers glue, easy to spread and the bond is usually stronger than the surrounding foam. Good price and easy cleanup too

I've always used the Liquid Nails Construction Adhesive. I've got foamboard projects I made six years ago still holding together. I also use it to attach PVC pipe to the back of tombstones for staking in the yard.

Yup. I swear by this stuff too. Have some old projects that are holding up like new.

I swear that nothing works every time! I have tried PL, Power Grab, Liquid Nails, Gorilla Glue, and possibly a few others. None of them see to work every time with any consistency. For those of you that have had success, I applaud you! I am gonna try that Titebond II........I dont have any of that sitting around the shop yet!

I have heard many suggestions for glue, and just want to warn that most of the suggestions are not suitable for glueing foam to foam or is recommended on packages that one surface must be pourus. I know many people here will say that they have used these glues in these inappropriate situations without any problem, but this could be the cause of inconsistant results. I just suggest that anyone concernred take note of directions on package.
