I've decided after making a few heads & limbs from paper mache that I want to make a prop that moves instead of several that are static. Right now I'm looking at making a grave grabber with a wiper motor. Now the thing I'm wondering is will any wiper motor work or do we have to buy the ones from the online webites? I'm asking because we have several cars we are getting ready to junk out ( demo derby & dirt racing) & if I can make those wiper motors work then I cosider that a FREEBIE. lol. So if any of you have used a wiper motor not bought from monster guts let me know.

Most wiper motors are the same, they all do the same job in a car (Move the wipers).

The differences seem to lie in the features, Parking and intermittent action.

Check out Scary Terry's Site for the reference everyone uses:

MOST are 12 volt.If its a much older car 6 volt was common.

I'm picturing a grave grabber on the roof of you demo derby car. Probably agains the rules, but man that would be cool.

A wipermotor is excellent for this job, combine it with an old atx computer power supply at 3,3 or 5V and you'll have an amazing and powerful effect.
