Oh, you should!! They're actually really easy to make and they payoff is incredible. I was nervous too, but I love them so much. They really enhance the haunt.

I love this thread and reading all of your tombstones. Thanks for starting it. These "last" messages are great reading. The tombstones I have now are all pretty much decorative without much character or humor.

I don't have any creations of my own yet but that will be my winter/spring project I think. All the pics and tutorials are so inspiring.

Thanks TK421!! I really like your streaked effect and want to try that on my next round of tombstones. I haven't posted a tutorial to the forum but have a website with some more step-by-step photos. Go to A Haunted Halloween - Projects: Tombstones. I'll be adding a 2nd page of tombstones with more info as I update the site.

Be gentle, it's my first time:

Well, my first time where I decided not to risk melting the foam with a Dremel (we're not friends) or slicing my hands up with an Xacto knife for carving. Meaning it's the first completed one...except for being completely unpainted/sealed on the sides and back. But I think I'm onto something here with the foam stickers and soon to be other raised details. I'd rather build up than carve out. I need to fix that big splotch under the lower "D" but otherwise I'm satisfied.

Still looking for foam number sticker that don't look like a kindergarten class project.

Great site! I hope you don't mind, but I added your site to my list of "Helpful Links".

Thought I'd add my first large tombstone of 2009, this one will hide my peeper, still needs the hands added as well as a bit of dark wash on the upper edge and moss. Wiper motor set-up arrived from Monster Guts earlier this week.
