Well hey all. I'm sitting at home after my surgury, bored to death and researching halloween ideas. I once came across a website that had a great tutorial on how to texture and paint foam to make fake boards. Like used on a window. Unfortuniatly I didnt bookmark the page. Does anyone recall this website or the link to the how to. Thanks Steve

I am not sure on the website but a few tricks i know are steel bristled brushes and then scrape in a board like pattern with knots every so often. Then take a heat gun onto. You can also use a blade for deeper cuts and they will expand more with the heat.

I made my own styrofoam boards by cutting foam into strips and then "burning" in the wood grain. I used the trowel tip from my soldering iron kit and ran a wood grain pattern over the styrofoam. I then painted in the grain, and then painted the surface of the foam. I am very happy with the outcome.
