I recall seeing some time back posts where Prop Builders have used dryer lint for details on their props. I wasn't paying attention close enough, I guess. What could that stuff possibly be used for? And, how durable would it be?

Dryer lint for creating faux moss.
Shawn and Lynne Mitchell's Book One of How to Haunt Your House offers an explanation of how to use craft glue and green paint to create faux moss.

funny, i was just looking this up the other day. i'm going to use it to "flesh" out hands i'm working on. not sure of it's durability, i'm just using it cosmetically. i know white glue is pretty durable especially with a weather proofing coat of some sort. anyway, here a thread i found with info about it...

Dryer lint is great for starting fires. Highly flammable and great to take on camping trips.

Just a thought when using it in your haunt. ;-)

Very true. During my military service, the dryers were always picked clean before any field survival exercise.

Never thought of using it as faux moss though..sounds like a good idea.

yep...I was thinking the same thing when I saw this thread.

as a matter of fact, we used to start "magic" fires during skits in the scouts buy taping a 9 volt battery to a stick, then sticking into a pile of wood that had steel wool and dryer lint in it...

Very useful to use in place of celluclay, mix the dryer lint with glue, and you've got mache clay!
