I am getting ready to build a GOE foam cutting miracle box. I would like to build an edger like shown on the Wolfstone page. However there is no guage of wire given, other than "stiff". Does anybody have suggestions as to the guage to make this edger?

My cutter uses 24 gauge nichrome wire. Nichrome is generally pretty stiff anyways.

I made my GOE cutter using cheap guitar strings from Walmart. (set of 6 was $3.97) The thickest non-wound string worked great for a straight cutter but I don't think it would be quite thick enough to hold its shape for the edger. One thing I've found with the guitar strings is that they get brittle after being heated up.

Now that I've seen it, I want to build an edger also. I will play around with some thicker wire tonight and see if I can come up with something that works.
