Can anybody give me some advice as how to make the dark areas darker (or black) the next time ? For instance the areas where there is no animation in the opening sequence and other parts of the video where the animation should be darker or black. See my video in post #94 to see what I'm talking about.

Wouldn't that be a setting adjustment on your projector? ie. brightness and/or contrast.

Scrim! Go to the fabric store and look for sheer solid black fabric.

I just was on Mark's Hallowindow official blog site to get my iPhone Hallowindow wallpapers and saw that he had put up a note about the scrim on the site there:

I have been reading the posts about the Hallowindow and am very interested in getting this set up for Halloween at my house this year. I don't currently have a projector and will of course need one in order to do this. I read several of the older posts, and it seems that the better the projector the better the effect, but I do not have a large budget for this. I did see someone post about the zoombox which sounded nice when I researched it because the DVD was part of the component so I will not have to connect an additional piece of equipment. Any input on what is currently out there that is reasonable and will do a good job? I do have an extra DVD player available, so is there a better unit than the zoombox at the same cost that doesn't include the DVD element?

Thanks everyone! This is my first post on this forum, but I have been lurking here for awhile and love all the wonderful ideas.

Thanks guys. I went to Mark's site and checked out his explanation and sample video using the black scrim. It looks like this is what I need to try. Thanks again.
